History of the “ConstantY” began at 2006, when Ostap Manulyak founded ensemble of contemporary music “con-sonus....”. During 2006-2011, musicians of the ensemble took part at several project, where they presented music by contemporary ukrainian composers.
New people come to ensemble at 2012 and group start to be an active participants of concerts and festivals. Also at 2012, new name for ensemble emerged.
“ConstantY” - name which emphasizes sustainable, enduring purpose of promoting new music and music of the XXth century. On the other hand, the name of the ensemble to directly impose the same name of composition by Leonid Hrabovsky — work, which is one of the finest examples of ukrainian and also generally europian sonorism.
Today, repertoire of the ensemble consist from works by contemporary ukrainian composers, and also including compositions by classics of 20th century music, such as: Alban Berg, Luciano Berio, John Cage, Elliott Carter, Zygmunt Krauze, Olivier Messiaen, Karlheinz Stockhausen, Anton Webern, Iannis Xenakis and others.
